BEN TODD DEBUT SOLO ALBUM “ARRIVAL OF LOVE” OUT NOW

Ben Todd’s songs use feeling and rhythm to navigate paths of experience. After years of fronting the haunted boogie trio Lonesome Shack, Todd is branching out to release his first solo album Arrival Of Love.

Arrival Of Love is a collection of new songs home recorded in London, UK during coronavirus lockdown, 2020. You can hear the sounds of London in the background. Spring songbirds, trains, sirens, doors and footsteps play call and response with Ben’s guitar, voice and foot tapping. In the spirit of field recording, the magic of raw performance is captured, imperfections embraced. These songs come to life in a way that would be impossible in a studio setting and it feels just right.

Arrival Of Love is available on digital and streaming formats via Owl Head Records.

Ben is a songwriter with the ability to stun you psychologically..The songs are in your soul. They begin to rattle around in your skull, and before you know it you’re dancing around in your bones..He’s filling your head with haints that will be swimming around in the swill you call brains for years to come.
— American Standard Time
...showcases Ben Todd’s finger picking guitar, with eerie blues vocals and a sound that seems to carry his love of North Mississippi blues as much as it does the West African guitar style of acts like Tinariwen.
— Glide Magazine
Todd’s songs forgo the bombastic indie blues currently in vogue, instead favoring sparse grooves and reverb-soaked vocals. It’s raw but not rudimentary.
— Phoenix New Times
While never failing to generate basic blues mojo, guitarist Ben Todd keeps things consistently fresh with distinctive guitar figures on each track here.
